Anyone running a e36 s50 obd1 midpipe with their swap? Help!

Mine hangs entirely too low for comfort. I scrape on way too minuscule bumps and it just doesn't sit right from the headers back. Any suggestions on how to get the midpipe to to hang higher to help avoid this situation? Are you guys running the heat shield with this setup?

    I don't think it matters, but I'm running obd2 headers, obd1 m3 midpipe, and e36 m3 stromung exhaust.

Help! I just want to get this thing ready for a bar appt and be done with it. It runs and drives just fine but this exhaust bugs the hell out of me. Sounds amazing by the way.

This is from about eye level. It hangs too low.

This is from underneath, excuse the dirtiness.

Any help, suggestions, constructive criticism is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I'm running OBD1 manifolds to OBD1 mdpipe, and I don't think mine hangs quite that low. I had to put a few dents in the front down pipe to get it to fit over the subframe, but that shouldn't have changed how low it hangs. I will see if I can snap a few pictures of how mine looks.

What modifications did you have to do to the Stromung exhaust to get it to fit?

To the stromung catback no modifications to the exhaust itself was made. The only mods happened to the hangers of the muffler itself. I used e36 m3 hardware to make it sit perfect. I'll get pictures up of how it fits outside of the car soon enough. Sounds good and fits a hundred times better than the m3 stock exhaust fits and is over 40 lbs lighter. So worth what I paid for it.

This is the route I'm going, really want to see how other people have done it so it doesn't hang so low.

If I can figure out how to post a sound clip, I'll gladly share.

Trackjunkie: As of right now, I would only recommend this setup to be used to pass bar, then ditched. But because you don't have bar in NY, you're good.

Here are some pictures of the stromung catback. It's rainy outside and all wet everywhere and I need to rehook the o2 sensor harness that's hanging up by the tranny.

The stock E30 mid pipe mount should be reattached IMO, just a quick bit of welding.

I'll do some miracle cutting, reshaping, and welding here soon. The only issue is time. 20 units deep in school only leaves time for sleep and study and r3v.
