'87 325e w/ M50TU and stock Getrag trans, driveshaft short

Hey all - I am probably just not doing something right. I've got the M50TU in, getrag 5 spd from the '87 325e in, trans mounts done, etc etc., and I am hooking up the driveshaft and its about 1/2" too short. Not really sure what's going on - do I need to extend it via the slip/splined section? I could use advice here. This is supposed to work, I think. The motor is perfect (can't go back 1/2") but the shaft just won't reach the guibo.

Yes loosen the collar at the splined section and you should be able to extend the driveshaft to make it fit.
