The heater hose thread

I've searched and read all the heater hose related threads and this is what I understand, please correct me if I'm wrong. I want to make it clear for me and others whos doing the swap.

Later models with valve on top=Back of the head to upper pipe and spider hose to bottom pipe
Earlier models=back of the head to bottom and spider hose to upper pipe

Use m20 heater hose PN#11531289377 for the back of the head to heater core.
m50/s50 uses the existing spider hose to heater core.
M52/s52 metal pipe with custom hose to heater core.

Please post pics and any helpful tips if available, and the brand of the hose with PN# that you used.

Well I started one of the threads because what another member was saying and it made sense but went against what everyone else had always said. If you look at the end of that thread someone looked at the top of the valve and it pointed out (toward the firewall), meaning the flow stays the same regardless of where the valve is located. Someone also verified this in the discription on REALOEM. I have never yanked my heater core out but when I do it will be one of the 1st things I look at. I think the everyone is in agreement that the back of the head goes to the bottom now.

BTW I had my intake off a couple of night ago fixing a vacuum leak and swapped the hoses back. Back of the head to the bottom, put a clamp on the spider hose a little farther down the line to keep it from colapsing and it bled pretty damn easy this time. Also had heat for the 1st time as well. At 1st I thougt the Core was bad or clogged up but I think it had more to do with the line colapsing and then swapping them backwards to try and fix it and that not working either.

Bentley has been wrong a couple times this week for me as well, so I'm not putting much faith in anything right now. ;)

The valve is the outlet of the heater core, you can verify on REALOEM.

This reminds me of when in kindergarten, we were learning the alphabet.

I wrote a "d" correctly, so that when we were asked to write "dog", I wrote "dog". Well, wouldn't you have it, some people thought the "d" looked exactly like the "b". So, instead of writing "dog", they'd write "bog". I was nearly 99% sure that my understanding of the alphabet meant dog = dog, but being surrounded by people writing "bog", I began to doubt myself. Maybe I could be wrong, I thought.

Well long story short, this heater hose issue cropped up again, nearly five years after my own swap, and I thought, I couldn't possibly be wrong. My heat works.
