    buying S50 swapped car

    hi guys

im currently in negotiations to buy an S50 swapped car, and i was just asking if, there is any particular things that i should pay attention to when i see the car.

here is the add on ebay for the car:

i am however having the car checked over by a professional road service.

any input would be greatly appreciated

    thanks

1995 s50, valve retainers. Find out if they've been replaced/upgraded. Also, a compression test is a nice piece of mind any time like this.

i did a quick trawl on that problem, 100+k, redline hit daily and no problems OR chip, track use, and redline hit reguarly and they had them upgraded.

but some people are saying with chip, track use and regular flogging, they get them replaced at rebuild and only a few may show signs of wear.

Good condition O.E. ones will be fine. I have gone through about 9 cheap knock off brand axles.

And as far as things to look for. The list is huge. Ghetto wiring, ghetto coolant lines, ghetto everything. Tons of people 24v swap these things and only about 30% of them do a good job of it.

ive seen pictures so far of engine bay, and it look pretty damn clean actually, also a machanic checked out out for him and he's confident its a great swap.

guess all thats left is taking the trip down on the weekend and seeing for myself.

Ask what water pump and how many miles are on it. Also make sure the nut on the oil pump is welded or at least loc-tited on. I think an alignment could tell you alot about the car. I would want to know the chasis is straight. Ask about fluid changes and intervals. What kind of diff. Tread depth, breaks. All these things add up quick! Good luck!
