ABS deleted braking is less powerful

So now that the car is able to be driven i took it for a ride and the brakes arent powerful at all. I really have to force on the pedal to stop and even then it still takes alot of distance to stop it. I have the stock booster shifted over a half in and i deleted the ABS. Will deleting this cause me to have less stoping power?

Sounds like it's not been bled properly. ;)

bimmerteck seems to be on with that. Bleed those brakes again and go from there.

i bleed them twice. The booster had a dent in it to clear the manifold could that be part of the reason?

Where did you get the idea that denting the brake booster was an acceptable means of gaining clearance?

you'll now need a brake booster that isn't damaged.

either a stock e30 booster slid over via slotted holes in the firewall.

or one of the many proven replacements ie. e21, 944, a4-1.8t wo/Q, 325ix, ect.

it was dented when i got it from my buddy. He wa gonna do the swap but didnt and said he had a booster that was already for the swap. I thought it wasnt right but i figured i would give it a shot

dam it doesnt look like the stock booster will clear even with it shifted over a half inch cause i have it shifted now a half inch and its close

You have to cut off the last 3 or 4 fins on the intake manifold and have the booster shifted over 1/2" and it fits. Thats the setup im running with no issues.

Boosterless brakes will need more effort due to the pedal ratio of the pedal box.

Went threw this when I deleted my ABS/24v swap. Bled over and over again and nothing. Put 250ml threw the rears and 150ml threw the fronts and still nothing. Ended up being an ever so small leak at the T fitting that wasn't showing it's self. Tightened it up and now its WAY better.

when you dent them, you get leaks from the air, and you lose braking power

^That. Ever seen inside one? Its a big diaphram, big circle. So if you dent it, you break the circle thus no vac assisted brakes.
