Whats up with the Oil Build up?

Been noticing this lately...I think its an easy fix but I'm not 100% sure.

I think my valve cover gasket is either not tight enough or its no good. I'm also stumped as to why the PCV connection has so much oil build up around it.

    What are your thoughts fella's?

There is a o ring around the PCV pipe, Replace it.

Its new...has like 15k on it. Unless this part wears that quickly...which would be completely fucking nuts!

Thats a shitload of oil. Usually I see the valve cover gaskets leaking around the back, lower portion of the valve cover (towards cylinder #6 exhaust pipe).

I'm not sure how it got on top of your harness covers...

I'm thinking it has to do with that oil cap but I too am just as surprised man...

Is your oil cap cracked or leaking? I'd say get a new one before the valve cover gasket. Knowing me, I'd replace all that shit anyways though

Heh, good point. I actually switched out the old one, the cap in the vid happens to be another that I had laying around. But still doesn't explain the build up around vanos...The o-ring and that pcv p/n 11151703710 is nearly new, only has like 15k on it. They're cheap items but I don't want to throw money at it for nothing.

There's oil splash on the firewall.
I think that the leak is pressurized oil, rather than near atmospheric(Filler cap, valve cover, PCV).

I suspect your aftermarket oil filter canister cap and/or any fittings (Gauge senders, Oil cooler lines) that are attached to the cap.

Yeh thats the IE cap, I'm replacing it with an S54 oil filter housing soon. Gotta order the AN fitting conversion and distribution block for it. I have a feeling that a lot of the oil is coming from the cap.

I can't imagine the pressurized oil could be shooting that far back though :(

The air is flowing in that direction, especially if you have deleted the two plastic panels that sit behind the headlights. I left them out and noticed that the engine got dusty quickly.
The leak may be at the back of the cap.
Any fluid leaks travel rearwards from the exit point.

That actually makes sense. I should put those back in and clean everything up to see if anything chances...just to confirm that that's what is going on.
