    5 series exhaust manifold?

As most of you know, I'm finishing a S50 swap in my e30. I have the stock S50 exhaust manifold on and there is not much room at all for the downpipe because of the subframe. Someone told me if I bolted up a 5 series exhaust manifold it will give me a lot more room to work with? Does anyone know if it will work? Which 5 series?

    Thanks, George

My engine came from a 1995 525 (e34), and the manfold didn't clear the subframe at all. I eventaly used an E36 manifold. It is a tight fit, but there is enough clearance.

If I remember correctly, THR originally made the CAB's to make more clearance for the exhaust manifold. Possible solution?

no those are for the downpipes, the manifolds stop down there.

It fits, you can get more room by using a spacer or some people have used different mounts to tilt the engine a bit. I have a bit more room but I think its because I have the S52 manifolds which are not cast iron and thinner.
        Im now E30less.

Im using 95 E34 exhaust manifolds, Treehouse racing CAB's, no spacers, and M5 engine mounts. Everything fits. I had to raise the engine some and lower the subframe on the one side to slide the downpipes on though. Bolted everything back together and it all fits perfectly, no rubbing at all.
