Which way center support goes on E36 driveline?

Okay, I'm trying to get the driveline situated on my M50 swap. Could someone verify which way the center support bracket is suppose to go?

    (1) This way?

    or (2) this way?

    TIA.

Tie a string between the trans and diff and align the flanges so both holes are at the bottom. It should be obvious which way the offset needs to go. I can't remember off the top of my head though.

If you are using a G260, the first one is correct.

You know I have a Getrag but not sure which one. The motor and transmission all came off a '92 E36 325i. I was at one point doing research on tranny specs or applications for E36 chassis but had hard time finding. But it's definately a Getrag. Here is a pic of what it looks like.....

Can anyone verify? Thanks for all advise on question I had.

Definitely not a 260 or 240, rear trans housing looks different. Probably a 250, but i've never seen one.

getrag 225 is a valid trans model. isn't that what came in the Z3?

So going into the link and seeing that someone asked if it can be used on a E30 24v swap, looks like you can. that is awesome! Anyone know if this is a good tranny and the difference between it and the 240 or 260 Getrag?
