zf320 ?????

i have search like crazy but i cant find a clear answer im doing a 24v swap and i have a 5 speed zf320, but i also have on my car a 5 speed g260 with a new sachs clutch, can i use the clutch/plate/flywheel in the zf320,
if i can what T/O bearing?

or witch tranny should i use the zf302 or g260 ?????

I am just abt to do my swap also.. I have the zf320 to put in. It will not need a modified cross member because it was made for the Sx engines and wont be rotated a few degrees when bolted up like the g260 will. It will also hold up better over time. I got the e36 clutch and flywheel with mine so i cant help you there but I think it is def better to use the ZF if you have it.

Both trans will work. The G260 requires some slight modifications to the shifter linkage and to the trans brace because the trans will end out about 10 degrees clockwise off center. You can use the current driveshaft without modification and the current diff ratio.

The ZF will sit in the proper orientation in the 12 o'clock position. No linkage mods or trans brace mods required. The ZF will however require a drive shaft modification and they prefer a 3.24 or 3.15 diff ratio in the rear. I believe that was the ratio that sat behind this trans when it was in the E36 cars. That will give you decent gas mileage and good rpm range on the freeway.

I have an S50 powered E30 cabrio and I run the G260 in that car. No complaints with this setup.

I co-own an M42 turbo club race car with a ZF 5-speed that has a 3.65 diff ratio in the rear. I drove with the ZF only one test day so far. That diff ratio will probably work well on tracks like Buttonwillow and Chuckwalla. I think we will need a 3:24 on tracks like Cal Speedway (Auto Club Speedway).

ok, well yes i want to use the ZF but i want to know if i can use the g260 clutch/plate/flywheel, with the ZF i have search alot but dont get it really, its my first swap

Im running a zf with the M20 flywheel, clutch, tob and starter. You will want to run a 3.25 diff or lower otherwise as others have said your revs will be sky high.

On the M42 turbo race (w/ ZF) we run the M20 flywheel that has been lightened to about 12 lbs., M20 clutch, ZF pilot bearing (that one that works with the ZF trans) and the 323 TOB.

Im running the zf with the m52 with e30 M3 driveshaft and csb. Does anyone know what short shift kit to use? e36 or e30? Im assuming e36 328, but any first hand experience would help

Using the same here except ZF310. Using the clutch slave for the ZF trans, and the Pilot bearing that matches the ZF also.

No i didnt do anything to the flywheel as machine shops here wanted an arm and leg to lighten it. I just shaved the oil pan and bolts so it cleared.

Im using the clutch slave matching to the transmission.
