The m42 radiator is a pain to bleed correctly and completely. I sold one and was accused of selling a clogged radiator because the buyer couldn't figure out how to bleed it. It takes a LOT of patience. Make sure you are getting the bleed screw high, it helps to catch bubbles. I jacked my drivers side up whenever I would bleed.
Or, do what I did and replace it with an e36 aluminum radiator and an e30 expansion tank.
