    What is this plug for?

I searched but cant find anything. When I did the s52 swap I just unplugged the 2 wires that went to this plug and everything ran fine so I kinda forgot about it. What is it for? I cant find anything reasonable in the ETM.

Its the hex next to the power distribution block with the 2 terminals sticking out in the pic. Its on the passenger side of the engine bay. The stock m20 had 2 wires from the engine harness connecting to it... its been unplugged for almost a decade and I havnt noticed anything not working. Thoughts?

I think I answered my own question. It appears to be a temp switch that closes at 32deg for the idle control module. This explains why some e30s I saw didnt have it and also why nothing went wrong when it was left unplugged for 10 years.

    can anyone confirm?

          It's an eta thing iirc.

Does it by any chance connect to this? This runs along the same branch as the main power for the fusebox. It was disconnected when I got the car and the engine harness had already been disconnected so I'm lost as to where it goes. I'm assuming it's another eta thing.

Oh and before you ask, I was a hand model for a short time.
