Check it out, I'm leaking from what appears to be the water pump? It doesn't seem to be from the thermostat housing. I'm down the shore with my friends for a week. How difficult is it to replace the water pump gasket? I'm gonna silicon it since that's all I got

sorry man... thats a crap video. I can probably give you some insight though. I once had a mysterious leak and it wasnt the water pump, it wasnt the thermostat housing, and I was so confused. After a lot of searching, I found out that it was the timing cover gasket. The leak looked like it came between the block and the head. I thought it was the head gasket, so me and a buddy took the head off, replaced the HG and timing cover gasket, and no more leak! Check that.

Probably your water pump o-ring.
I have no access to the internets so I can't download an E36 Bentley, I'm guessing just loosen the alternator belt and unbolt the WP? I'm sure I can get an O-Ring at any hardware storeOriginally posted by TSI♫ Rust flecks are falling on my head...♫OEM+

Not trying argue.....but the weep hole leaking means your water pump itself is leaking from the shaft and seals....NOT the o-ring gasket.
Weep holes are designed to let out any water that seeps past the seals on the shaft, but it obvioulsy shouldn't be much.
The actual water pump gasket shouldn't leak AT ALL.
I'm not saying I know whats leaking down there either way, but if it is coming from the weep hole, then you need a water pump, and not a seal.
24V M50, M3 cams, Turner Tune, full exhaust, ect....

Thanks, I should have clarified, yes you need the whole new WP not just the gasket (can you buy the gasket separately?). My car did the exact same thing after my sweap.
