tune or chip

hi guys, like i said before i finished my swap but i need a little help from the pros.:p

i have a 1997 m52 obd1 with pink top injectors
my harness is from a manual 1993 325i with 413 ecu
i talked to a guy thats has a tuning shop here i the bay and he told me that i needed a tune because my harness an ecu are for a 2.5 engine not a 2.8 and im not getting max performance out of my engine, dont know if this is true so i wanted to ask the pros.

do i really need a tune or will a chip be ok?

stock 413 ecu will run just fine for your 2.8L. But because you got pink injectors, they flow a bit more so you will need a tune for that 413 then, or just install stock M50 injectors on there and you will be fine.
