    M50Vanos idle with AC on too low

    What to look for if the idle drops to almost/below 400 at stop signs/red lights if the AC is on.

    93 525i.

    I think you are suposed to have a wire hooked up that tells the DME when the AC is on.

      Stock car. Idle does go up when ac button is pressed.

      Idle just drops too low when you slow down to 0 etc.

        think it has something to do with the wires in the glovebox. I know there is a thread on tech that explains how to handle this. It was discussed on here in the last week or so.

            Yeah I understand DME gets a signal from A/C and bumps the idle. I don't think thats the same issue my car is having.

            This is a 100% stock e34 with m50 vanos engine, the idle GOES up when the A/C is turned on which leads me to believe DME gets the signal.

            The issue is low idle with AC on when coming up to a stop.
