Okay people, give me some feedback/help

    I have a vanos m50 in my 89 e30.
i just replaced my O2 sensor today to try to solve my issue.
    Didn't work.
My issue is that my car doesnt like to be at idle/at a very steady rpm while its warmed up. if it sits for maybe 5-10 seconds after its at operating temperature and ive stopped and gone a couple times at a traffic light, my CEL will come on and give me 1221 and sometimes 1222 codes. both having to do with O2 and the fuel mixture blah blah. the new sensor didnt solve the problem. if i sit at a stop light, and i hit the gas repeatedly the code will not come on. just for shits and giggles i unplugged my MAF and started the car up, let the CEL come on, turned the car off and did the stomp test. I got 1221. NOT 1215 for the MAF. I already ordered a new MAF but if that doesn't work im gonna have a barbeque a la e30 in my backyard. ask me questions/give me ideas. tell me what to do. thanks for the help! GO!!

Im gonna say check for vacume leaks, its probably not a huge leak to really affect drivability but just enough to mess with the idle.

I smoke tested my car and made sure every vacuum line was in the right spot. No leaks.
      Lol

If a new maf helps let me know. Sounds similar to my running too rich problem. I get no codes. Threw a new o2 sensor in, idle speed control valve and even replaced and injector I thought I'd messed up installing the engine.

          Alright scratch that idea.
          Is the TPS adjusted properly?

Yeah i put in a new IAC about 3 weeks ago but it didn't help anything. Also my car doesn't have any cats but i don't believe thats causing my problem.
Another thing, when all this is happening to my car, it's running verrry rich. if i hit the highway after the light comes on i can get it to go off and if i cruise for a long while the car will clear up, but if it idles for too long it'll happen again.

The TPS can be adjusted? i thought it only went on one way. I bought a new one before the swap was finished because i broke my old one. it does say made in west germany on it which i thought was kinda fishy lol

Well the tps fits only one way but you can adjust the stop screws on the throttle body to increase or decrease the voltage that the ecu will see.

There is a way to do it with a volt meter where you unplug the tps connector and put the volt meter on 2 pins and then adjust the tbody stop screw to get the voltage into specs.

Sorry i cant give you exact detail as when i did mine i had a scan tool hooked up. But what you are discribing with what happens is very similar to what my car did when i first finished my swap. It ended up being a vacume leak the maf and the tps was way out of wack.

I tested my tps and found it works fine but I have little idea how adjust it. I have a slight vacuum leak at the booster to the master cylinder. So this may have me onto something if I can figure out how to get within specs. I'm just running sooooo rich.
