Does this need to be hooked up?

I recently completed an s52 swap on my e30. The car runs great, idles great and has no check engine lights. Even though it seems that everything is fine I feel like it isnt as fast as it should be. I keep thinking I must have missed something or hooked something up wrong. I was doing some double checking and I found one sensor not hooked up. It looks like a crank position sensor? I borrowed a picture and circled it. What is this and does it need to be hooked up?

It is a 3 prong sensor but I see no loose connectors anywhere. Is this an unnecessary leftover from doing the obd1 swap? Any other ideas on why the car doesnt pull a hard as it should? Thanks guys.

That is the obd2 crank position sensor. It does not need to be hooked up to anything if you have converted to obd1. It is left in place to plug the hole.
