    what sensors are these?

need help identifying these sensors. last thing i need to do before the engine gets dropped in. i was told the the first one came from a 95 325is. second pics are of the sensor that came on the s52. thanks for the help

i really have no idea what this is.

i thought i might have gotten it confused with this sensor, but the length of each didnt seem to match the other way.

this came on the engine. i was thinking camshaft position sensor. it was connected to the harness with a connector with black, yellow, and brown wires.

    1st cam pos. sensor (m50)
    2nd crank pos sensor
3rd left:vanos solenoid right: cam pos. sensor (s52)

s52 should also have a hall type crank pos. sensor in the rear of the block, intake side. This is not used in obd1 swap.

thanks! so then does that mean i need to change out the s52 cam pos. sensor with the m50 cam pos sensor? the mounts on the sensors were just so different i didnt think it was the right one. And yeah, i read about the hall type crank pos sensor and found out that you can just leave the only one in, unplugged. is this right?

Yes, switch the cam sensors and you're good!

And yes, just leave the S52 crank sensor installed and unplugged.
