So I'm looking at building a new engine, with a supercharger, or getting a euro engine, lowering the compression ratio, and supercharging. I really like the idea of the euro engine because of the solid lifters = High revs. I like high revs.
VAC has solid lifter conversion kits blah blah blah. I'm wondering what can be achieved with a ballanced m52 aluminum block, solid lifters, and custom cams/mild head work. Am I looking at 8k redline, 8.5k? I obviously need double valve springs, are the performance ones that VAC sells worth the grand, or would the double valve springs from a non-vanos engine suffice?
I realize it'd be expensive to go this route, but if I go with the m52, I can use a stand alone EFI system, and wouldnt have to worry about ews, expensive euro parts like ignition coils etc...
Thanks-
Addis
