I got my motor for 2g with ecu accessories, harnesses.
My budget is about 3-4g. Im really hoping I m not going to go over that, but I def. agree with what you say can't predict anything while working on cars!

check out massive brakes. He just made an adapter to get rid of the booster and run manual brakes. This gives you tons of clearance, but you'll need to really stomp on the pedal being boosterless.

I don't know why anyone would opt for this on a street driven car... I genuinely don't understand it, not trying to sound condescending or anything.

I get it if you have like no other choice because of an engine swap but if there's enough room for a booster why not use it?

O/P Looks like you've got yourself a healthy budget for the motor. The 3.5" HFM is kind of a gimmick though...

There are a decent amount girls swapping hardcore cars of all sorts in the bay, most in penninsula or south bay.

if you are in the bay, there are a few professional swap shops in the area;

Ryan G runs a excellent shop in Auburn (sac area); many very nice 24v swap cars there. Very knowledgable on e30's and other bmw's

JD has a BMW specific 24v swap shop in Richmond (bay area) with full tech gear setup to troubleshoot most any 24v electrical puzzles, also full welding set/+guy on site to do it if you need something built/fabricated/repaired on site on the chassis.

Not sure if anyone mentioned it yet, but plan on the entire swap taking about 5x longer that you'd expect.
Just trust me.......if you plan on things taking a while.....plan on them taking longer than you've already planned, lol.
You're never going to figure all the odds and ends out untill your fitting things together.

Also if you have any questions or needed some random tools (vanos tools, pullers, holders, big wrenches, oscilloscopes) we can help out with that.
