    M50 to S50/S52

I'm planning on doing a 24v swap, but don't wanna blow the $$ right now. Is it possible for me to do a clean complete m50 swap and then latter change the engine to an s50/s52 (besides the obd2 shit and oilpan)with out changing anything else out?

yup, make sure you grab a vanos M50, that way you can pretty much drop the S5x block and head in, and the rest will be plug and play.

Then you would have to buy two gasket sets. And do the work twice. Just save up and do it once. I build engines all day and I would much rather just build them right once, than twice.

I'm sure you know more about 24v swaps then me, but its like 300bux for a set. its better then forking out another 1500 that I don't have now. Since you both are here, Should I get the engine harness from a e34 or e36?

either will work, e36 will reach the DME into the factory e30 location, E34 wont.

The e34 has the provisions for an oil level sensor, the e36 doesnt. They both have their pros and cons. I personally went for the e36 harness and will add on the oil level sensor.

For anyone that has used the e34 harness, where did you mount your DME? Thanks

makes sense, since the e34's ecu is under the hood...
how would you add in the oil-level sensor?
