    Possible bad ECU?

Slowly but surely I'm getting the bugs worked out on my S50. A bad fuel pump connector there, seized ICV over here, and now a sticky throttle.

Let me explain. When I first started the motor for the first time it wouldn't stay running due to a bad fuel pump connector. Fixed that, it worked perfectly. Now I had the issue of a not so great idle and hunting. Took a look at the ICV (I had my doubts when I installed it in the first place) and could see that the valve was stuck half way open. I tried freeing it to no luck, so I installed a brand new ICV. The S50 idled and ran great after that, sort of. What I have now is an engine that holds what ever revs you push it to and keeps it there for a few seconds till it drops down to 500 rpms and back to the perfect idle. There's no missing, pinging, back firing, nothing. It just won't rev back down.

I decided to run a stomp test. No dice, I can't get the CEL to light up. It's hooked up correctly and comes on when I first turn the ignition, but nothing after that. Thinking it might have been a TPS issue, I replaced that with a known working one. Still no change in the CEL or the engine's state.

So since all the other engine systems/sensors are running perfectly and/or new, the red label 413 ECU I'm using is my last guess in what could be at fault. The throttle cable is completely loose right now, so don't say to check that. ;)

    Any ideas? :???:

Vacuum lines are ran perfect with no leaks? Chip configured for your setup? Compression good?

Intake leaks or a problem with the TPS would be my first suspects. A problem with the TPS could explain both the idle problems and the failure of the stop test. Have a smoke test run on the intake to see if there are any leaks.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

^^^Speaking of intake leaks, if you crank down the intake too hard to the head you can distort the orings on the intake resulting in leaks.

-The intake nuts are torqued to spec.

-Vacuum leaks are non existent, everything is where it should be, and new hoses

          -TPS is already replaced.

The engine runs great, idling, reving, whatever, it's perfect, except for the revs sticking. I'll just have to make a vid tomorrow.
