starter not engaging

As the title states, once in about 10 starts my starter does not engage. It just makes a blender kind of noise. If i jump start the car by pushing/rolling it and pop the clutch it turns over fine and then the starter engages again after that.

Is my starter on its way out?

high-pitched whirring? might not be actuating, just replace it.

yup, high pitched whirring. Very much like a blender. New starter it is.

Deffinently the solenoid, make sure the wire on the bottom post is on all the way first.
