new starter not engaging. HELP Im driving cross country

I just installed a new Bosch starter, and now all it does is whirrrr. Its not engaging at all. Just spinning. What'd i do wrong? I'm leaving for chicago in the morning and i need to get this figured out.

I'm betting that he bought the wrong starter for the flywheel.

Im going to guess he didnt have the power wire hooked up or tight on the starter solenoid. Possibly had some wires backwards

wrong wires to the wrong places.

Problem was I ordered an s50 starter for a getrag 260 (e30 trans).

Aka wrong starter.
