vacuum line s52 obdi & fuel line question & 87 on 91 octane

I got a couple minor stops I am trying to work on.

First off, I have 2 vacuum lines I dont know where they go. One goes from the rubber hose that connects the ICV to the intake manifold, and one is by the air intake temp sensor on the intake manifold

One goes to the FPR, I just forgot which, I dont know where the other goes.

Also, the return line for fuel goes on the rail next to the FPR (back) correct? Although I am second guessing my line selection, the engine turns over, fires, then stops. I popped what I thought was the feed line off the rail, and there was a TON of pressure, shot gas all over myself and the engine bay.

    Specs if you need it

s52 with obdi, 540hfm, 24#, conforti chip and open headers as of now if that matters (so the o2 is not connected)

Also, I have a FULL take of 87 gas in my car, and the chip is obviously tuned for 91+, what should I do? Drive it off and the car will run a bit cruddy, or should I drain it?

    ?
Vacume line from icv boot goes to the valve cover. ...you will need to make a modified tube from obd2 to obd1. the small tube from the underside of manifold (next to air intake temp sensor) goes to the fpr. Yes, the fpr is mounted on the fuel return side of the rail.....by cyl#6 or firewall on the s52....sounds like you made the right selection. i would recommend hooking up all vacume lines, installing o2 sensor, getting custom chip for 24#/3.5hfm/obd1 s52 prior to runnign the engine for ANY length of time.

man, that car will haul. the 3.2obd1 in the e36 moves.....i cant imagine shaving 500#.

    cheers.jason.

      Ok thanks!

What do you mean the one on the ICV boot goes to the valve cover?? I must have over looked something.

Yeah I just wanted to test fire the engine I still have some things to sort out, I just wanted to turn it a couple times just to make sure all is well before I start working on "non-engine" projects. I dont have an exhaust for this, I am going to have one cusom built, so the o2 wont be in for a long time.

I still have the driveshaft to put back in and figure out my brake system along with the clutch slave cyl.

and the chip is already in and tuned for my mods, so thats covered. And so goes wrapping up the e30 m3 s52 project :) should be badass to drive.

      EDIT:

Oh do you mean the big one for the PCV? I think the OBDII system had a air/oil filter soft of thing, that would drain through the dip stick. To my understanding, I would then route a tube from the PCV to the 90 degree elbow for the TB and HFM, would I also need a second line to go in for the ICV boot?

addis is correct. you will need the obd2 connector that goes into the valve cover. it will need to be modified to accomidate the two hoses. the connector will 2 hoses. the large one will be routed to the throttle body boot (between the hfm and throttle body bottom side) and the small hose goes to the icv boot (between the intake manifold and idle control valve.)

you will ditch the obd2 dipstick w/ extra vacume hose. it wont even fit the e34 pan. just use the e34 dipstick (or obd1e36 dipstick.)

          cheers, jason

Yeah, I got the dipstick in, isnt that #1 an OBDI part? Anyways, Ill try to cutup my OBDII one with the air/oil filter thing and see If I can make it work.

            Thanks
