    driveshaft too long

sorry to cross post but there is hardly aby activity in the driveshaft forums

I have an e30 m3, s52 tranny, s52 flex disc, e34 5 series diff with swapped cover and flanges to fit on my car.

I adjusted the driveshaft to go as small as possible but I still need another 1/4 to fit...

Is there a trick or anything to gettin this on? Or has anyone run this setup?

Thanks again sorry for cross posting but I have to move my car monday and I want the driveshaft in..

e30 flex disc probably... thats what you use with the 260, and the non-m e36 tranny. Granted its all different, but try it if its still sitting around.

even without the flex disc its still too long, I am thinking about getting the shaft shortened an inch or so, I think the shaft from the shortest position is able to extend about 3 extra ones, so it should give me enough room to play with.

does anyone have any other suggestions?

Let us know how this comes out if you have it shortened. Or if you find one that fits.

that is the drive shaft you're supposed to use with that tranny- it should fit perfectly. you've taken off the protection shielding and moved the u-joint mount back?

I played with the nut part that you would unscrew to take the two halves apart.

He's talking about sliding that slotted bracket back and forth.

ok I think I may have gotten it, its a damn tight fit though. Thanks guys

I need to adjust it a bit more but I had to quit because I didnt realise the adjustment nut was ripping all the skin off my hand as I cranked on it... then the blood started to flow lol. Ill get on it tommorow. I needed to order some e36 driveshaft bolts but its lookin good now.

I dont understand, if you are running the M3 tranny(E36), and the E30 driveshaft, you shouldnt have any problems...

                          Mine fit perfectly...
