    MY zexxy m50tu

Well I have been craving more power for a while and my car has been swapped for maybe 4 years. I have had lots of fun with my lightly refreshed m50tu mainly gaskets, hardware all maintenance items etc. I have considered NO2 for sometime now and after lots of research and a little inspiration from a friend I finally did it, I bought a Zex wet fogger kit. I got the kit from a local guy that had the wrong jets and other problems with his car, he was frustrated and sold me the kit for a very reasonable price with a wideband the entire kit had 30miles on it when I got it.

I installed the kit over the weekend after working 12 hour days I did a little each night and got it together Monday night. I wasn't expecting much out of a 75hp shot going by the previous owners experience well remember the part about the wrong jets he was jetted for about a 35 shot but crazy rich. I changed the jets to the proper 75hp shot and went for a test ride.

Run one...virgin no2 shot. I am nervous my friend is very anxious and eager for me to activate the switch. I have a window switch wired in and no purge or bottle warmer. The bottle is weighing in at 23lbs and is cool to the touch. First spray I am sorry to report but the car fell on its face and made a pop noise. Well the filter suffered a minor no2 backfire just what I was afriad of!!! I don't have a purge installed and it sprayed with fuel and min no2. I pulled over and pulled the filter then check the rest of the car out for damage....nothing.

Run two. Now I get a little taste. I have the window switch set to spray at 4600 rpm under wot and shut off at 6000rpm. I do a slow roll in 2nd gear shifting into third and lay into it. The car pulls like normal then at 4600rpm I feel a sudden and somewhat smooth increase in power it feels good but not perfect. I thought about it for a few and came to the conclusion that it seemed like it was almost bogging and breaking up seemed rich according to the wide band but I have a small exhaust leak so I am not 100%.

Run three...are you f'ing kidding me?....same thing 2nd gear but this time hammer down right away 2nd goes fast n/a so as soon as the no2 shoots its at the rev limiter quicker than I expected or could react. ripped the tires completely loose shift to third backing off the throttle no2 off (not wot) and then rolling back into it, 4600 no2 shoots pulling hard but spinning still shift to 4th car is really pulling and then the car torques from the rear to the left @ 75 mph the car is ripping the tires loose with ease and still holding me firmly in my seat. I back off and drive normal.

Hmmm that was fun lets do it again.. same thing the car looses traction with ease even in high gear high rpm pulls and is still pulling strong clearly its making much better power wideband is safe @ 11.8

I go back to the house check the plugs everything is good jet swap to a 100 shot....check bottle pressure its low low 740 and very wet and cold.

100 shot test uno....traction forget it!!!! third gear is pointless 4th same thing. I shut it down and went home and pulled the bottle.

I am now going back to 75hp jets and going to tune the no2 map a bit upgrade my fuel pump and get a purge kit, warmer and in car no2 pressure gauge...I will also get sticky tires and swap my 3.73lsd for my 2.93lsd...my pressure was at 825max for all above runs. Target is 900-1000psi.

Dyno results coming soon and video.

Conclusion I love the zex kit smooth power and the sudden increase of torque really compliments the natural torque curve of these motors. I will creep to a 100 shot wet but will stop there till my "stage 2 setup" = direct port is ready.

Just ordered a NANO kit instead of a heater I can't deal with the inconsistency. I am also waiting on my new dynotune master blaster purge kit then onto some tuning and dyno sessions.

For those that don't know what NANO is check it out
