OH HAI GUISE
Im wiring up an M50TU to my 85 325E out of a 93 525i.
Ive been following AKG's Diagram
SO Far I have the following wired up
Pin #1 (Blue) Alternator Charging to Pin #25(Blue) Alternator Charging
Pin #4 (Brown/Violet) Engine Coolant temp TO Pin # 12 (Engine COolant Temp
Pin #7 Fuel Pump To Pin # 13 Fuel Pump and Oxygen Sensor
Pin # 8 Starter(Blk/Yel) TO Pin # 18 Starter (Blk/Yel)
Pin # 10 Ignition Switch (Green) to Pin # 21 Ignition Switch(Green)
Pin # 16 Oil Pressure Switch to Pin # 23 Oil Pressure
So Now I have 4 wires left over. Two of them are Oil level Sensor wires. Which apparently the E36 Harness doesnt have Provisions for. According to that Diagram. But I have an E34 Harness. which DOES Have provisions for the Oil level Sensor from what Ive heard. SO far I have these NOT wired up
2Blue/yellowOil level sensor
6Green/yellowOxygen sensor relay
15Violet/greenOil level sensor
17White/blueDiagnostic connector pin #7 Service Reset
The AKG Wiring Diagram says the Fuel Pump and Oxygen Sensor are on the same wire. Lolwat. But I also know I have an E34 Harness so not all the wires are the same. Ive heard of some people are using pin # 22 for the oxygen sensor on the E34 harness, can anyone verify that?
As for the oil level sender and the Service Reset... Can I just cap those off to no Ill Effect? Or is there a way to wire them in and not be a hack?
Also A couple of other M50 Swap related questions....
- I took Pin # 7 (Starter Immobilizer) And dissconnected it, This is Right, Right?
- What does
For tach signal Pin 7 on C-1 blue 25 pin connector on insturment panelMean?
-I have to change my Oxygen Sensor out to an E34 525i One, Correct?
-How are you people with early models fitting your harness through the firewall? The hole is WAY to Small that i Pulled the M20 Harness
out of.
- I CANT FIND MY AUX FAN PLUG FOR THE LIFE OF ME. My freind Dissconnected it and took the COndensor out for me, I went to go wire it up today and the PLUG DOESNT EXSIST. Where is it/ wat does it look like?
- I can has use Early Model Coolant Res?
