Rubber/flexible oil pickup tube?

Ive been trying to work my pickup tube to fit the IX pan on with minimal luck, just too many bends to try to get it to work...

Iee been thinking... why cant i use a piece of rubber hose, and at the pickup end just hose clamp the last inch of pipe with the filter thing on the end? Then it would sit down in the lowest part of the pan perfectly?

ide imagine itd move around a good bit and if it falls off the pump=bad.

There is the probability of the soft line kinking, or collapsing.
You need metal tubing anyway, as the hose will likely be destroyed by the hot oil and disintegrate, after collapsing.

Why not just a stock pickup and weld it up with tube to the desired length and placement?
