      I'd swap the 250 and 240.

Although, I have gotten emails from sweden and the guys ask me why we hate on the 250. I've never seen one break either.

      Status: HG repair. 488wtq though!

Nah. ZF320>g250>g260>g240. You guys are whack. Closed ratio and proper oil displacement FTW.

What on earth is with this G240 hate?

A lot of guys run 240 gearboxes with 24v swaps and I've never heard of one breaking unless they were abused or behind an engine that was highly modified (eg. forced induction).

Not to mention that you can use the stock transmission mounts which reduces your costs.

G240s are quieter than G260s as well if you're after something for a daily driver car. I will be using a 240 gearbox for my 2.5l 24v swap later this year as the G240 has been behind USA S50 motors without issues.

G250 gearboxes I heard are weaker than 240s but I may be wrong.

lots of speculation being thrown around in the thread. I just say run what's available to you, and worry about it when you break the trans driving like an asshat

e36 325i dshaft works, And never had a problem with the g240.

perhaps try G220 i think. its close ratio and silly light. (318ti e36 and perhaps m42 e36 318?) its the e36 updated non overdrive version of e30 318is gearbox. should pair well with euro spec 316i flywheel and clutch lol

for boosting you prob. want something with a high enough torque rating to handle it - OP what are you planning to put down to the wheels, and what RPM range are you targeting?

zf320 is pnp with with its 24v engine anywhere a g260 was with its 12v engine, who cares if a driveshaft swap is required- you get a better guibo also. dual mass flywheel is a good thing, its actually great for turbo also- s52 oem clutch and 22lb fly would be the one to get. it can take a boosted 24v 2500cc straight up as is. OEM complete s52 clutch setup is even a good option for a turbo M20 as it fits right into the g260 and can be Driven through third world country traffic and also wangan'ed

s52 clutch is same PN as euro S50b32...
