    another flywheel/clutch/pp plate thread lolz

I got an M50 from an E36 5 speed. Came with the flywheel, starter, pp, and clutch. I got a brand new clutch that was supposed to go on my friend's ETA, can I just pop that on with the E36 PP and flywheel? I plan on using the M50 flywheel and starter.

In my experience, they all need to match. I have no clue if they will work properly when mismatched.

Have you compared teh two side by side? Are they dimensionally similar?

2 very important details but I think they are the same shaft spline and OD/ID.

You should be able to... Im using my m20 clutch and pp with my zf320. The fly has to match the starter, if the eta clutch is the same pn as the m20b25 unit i dont see why it wont work?

The main problem is trying to use an M20 clutch and E36 PP. The surface areas might line up different.

Also, is the flywheel single mass or dual mass? Is the ETA clutch for a dual mass or single mass flywheel?

A single mass clutch and PP have to be used with a single mass flywheel. A dual mass flywheel has to be used with a clutch and PP for a dual mass setup.

Not necessarily. It should be but it doesnt have to. Ive used a M20 late single mass with a ETA dual mass clutch (solid hub). Different to drive but it works.

Well that is one of the few exceptions. You still used the single mass PP. I would also like to point out that you cannot use that combination in reverse (a single mass clutch with a dual mass flywheel).

Can you describe how it is different to drive?

Im running the e36 dual mass flywheel with eta ctuch & pp on zf tranny. You have to run the e36 starter with the flywheel, other than that everything else matched up for me.

Very direct and snappy. Chatters alot too when you do manage to slip it.
