Need help with swap questions :)

So today i left work on my skate board like i usualy do and i see a wrecked e46 on the side of a mechanic shop so i go in and ask if they are parting the car and the owner says to me you can have the whole car for 1k and my jaw just went :eeek::shock: so my question is what parts would i need to swap the motor to my e30 and since its obd2 how do i convert it to obd1????

Regarding OBD1 conversion: you don't.
It has been done quite a bit, but the swap is long and arduous.

i have not done a swap but i feel like itll cost you more than a s5x swap. plus if its wrecked who knows what other issues maybe lurking.

well i ment i just want the motor and as for time well i have alot of it and i take the bus to work so i wont be needing the e30 for a while plus it has a blown motor that is why im interested in the e46 motor

Save a another 500 and buy a s50.

S50's are not all that great. God trubo an m52 or m54.. and damn dude ownage.

m54b30 is only down 12hp from an US S50

here in cali where im at an s50 goes for 2500 so 1k for the whole e46 with a little front end damage is a fair price and i was just gonna part out the car anyways cause the whole interior is pretty clean and so is the outside :)

im still wondering what parts i need if i do buy the car to do the swap and would i still be able to use my getrag 260 trans?
