Another "Wiring Help" thread. Just need someone to confirm things.

Alright so I'm finishing up my OBD1 s52 swap into my e30 m3. Stoked on it... very close...

Anyway, just finishing / clearing up the last of my wiring questions and figured I'd post here just to confirm what I was doing.

    Figure 1:

    Figure 2:

    Figure 3:

    Figure 4:

Thanks all. Much appreciated. This is kinda my last steps before I feel ready to put the intake back on and send her to the exhaust shop.

in figure one that big wire with the black tape around it where does it go? I believe thats the fuse box power wire in the E36... so its not needed on E30.

Dont solder those 2 large wires to that one tiny one, just put that connector onto the pinch bolt for the main starter connection.

Okay so Figure 1: Tracing the big red wire with black tape around it looks like it actually goes to the e30 fuse box. Unless it just got accidently tucked inder there... but thats where it appears to be going. Thoughts?

ALSO for clarification: The battery terminal type connector in Figure 1 has 1 Big wire and 2 smaller wires coming from it. That BIG wire traces all the way to the starter. Which makes sense right? pulls power from battery and goes to starter? Then the 2 other connections on it I'm asuming is e30 fuse box and "____" ? I know it looks kinda sloppy, since the wire that has the yellow tape on it has 2 wires that look like they go into 1, so I'm guessing at some point something else was tapped in there.

Also on figure 1. they BIG red wire with black tape on it looks like the e36 fuse box type connector, BUT the black tape is where the end of that wire was spliced in, so I'm not sure its the e36 box plug that it looks like. Again I traced it and it looks like its going to the e30 fuse box... confusing.

In fig #2 you are putting a hot wire on the mounting bolt of the power junction, and there's no power there. I made that mistake first time and it had me buying parts I didn't need.

Give it a tug... it might be just chillin there waiting to spark....

Correct, and then from the same post on the starter another wire of similar size goes to the alternator.

The wire from the E30 fuse box is rather large diameter(similar to the red with black tape one. It should come out the side of the fusebox and be easy to follow. Normally it is in black shrink wrap.

The other 2 into one i think was a ghetto fix. In the E36 harness that single red wire splices into the E36 fuse box wire(where the black tape is?) I believe its the main relay power. I did not realize someone was being lazy with that and just found a terminal that worked and soldered it all together... even though the terminal had 2 wires coming from it... lol

            As mentioned above ^^

I'm going to take a look today and see about the weird large red one with black tape.
But what about the ground? And is there a a big back ground that comes from the DME? Where am I supposed to ground everything to?
