    G260 Shift Linkage? Help.

    Hi everyone..
I'm at work so no pictures but today I twisted my shifter carrier and selector rod 10 degrees to the left(if your sitting inside the car, this would mean towards the driver) and 1st gear is where 3rd gear should be and reverse is where 1st should be:(. Neutral isn't even in the middle, and 2nd and 4th are located where neutral use to be. Transmission seems to go in every gear, not smoothly tho.. Did I do something wrong? Anyone point me to the rite direction to lining the shifter up in the middle. It seems that even if I turn it another 5 degrees the shifter it self sits to far forward. Does anyone sell the shift linkage already pre-bent? Sorry if this should have went in the Transmission section, So I have S52+G260/ stock shift linkage 10 degrees to the left. Thanks in advance:), and oh yea if anyone wants to share they pictures id appreciate that as well.

Bend it more. Keep fucksing with it till it works. I always eyeball it then end up doing trial and error till it works

Are you sure you didn't twist it the wrong direction? Very easy to mess that up, since you're basically looking at it backwards and upside down.

Well, if left alone shifter will sit to far to the right/passenger side. If there was a passenger with me and I shifted quickly into 5th, I could take out his knee cap:). So I'm twisting, say upward/to the left, which seems to have brought it some what straight but no where near where it should be! I used a protractor and measured 10 degrees which from researching thats what most people said was the proper amount of twist. Think I should keep twisting? I've seen people with g260 setup and shifter sat great. I've also seen pictures as well and didn't seem like they twisted it so much..

I thought it was 15 degrees...
The best way to do it is get the engine and transmission installed and install the shifter without the selector rod. Cut the rod and install both ends, then mark it.

Thanks R3v. So leave shifter carrier alone, and tweak the selector rod only or both?

Oh, I didn't even realize you said you bent the carrier, I thought you were talking about the selector rod. We bent just my selector rod to 10° using an angle gauge. I'm surprised you didn't crack the carrier bending it, it's cast aluminum IIRC. Between 10° and 15° is fine for the selector rod, carrier does not need to be bent at all. My lever is centered right in my shift boot frame.
