I need some help with parts.

So my s52 getting delivered today. My main question is what harness do i want to make it obd1 and work with my 87 vert. E34 non vanos harness? or do i need one from a vanos car. I gotta collect more parts before i start asking wiring questions. Also is the ix booster preffered or can i use one out of an e32 735i. I heard theyre almost the same. Pros/cons?
Thats pretty much it for now. This is gonna be a long project so please help me get on track. Thanks

you have to use a VANOS harness since the S52 has VANOS.

I used an e34 OBDI harness for my 87 e30/S50 swap. e34 harness is a bit shorter through to the glove box area than the e36 harness....but it has the oil level sensor and wiring already in it.

I can't speak on switching from OBD2 to OBDI because my S50 is an OBDI engine..but I assume you will need an OBDI VANOS harness.

As for brake booster, I used an ATE unit from a Porsche 944 turbo.

No offense but these are pretty basic questions regarding this swap. It will be benefecial to you to read through all the swap sections on here and get a better understanding of what all needs to be done first.

You'll need all obd1 vanos harness and electronics. The harness adapter if you need would need to integrate the year of your vanos harness (mainly colors pin orientations are more or less the same), to the year of your c101 plug (again year for your colors for your pins).

Anything connected to the wiring harness you'll need. Including intake manifold/fuel rail/anything attached to the manifold.
