If you have another vehicle I would definitely +1 taking your time and removing as much as you can instead of trying to mask more than you need to. I'm mid-process now and I can tell you it will not turn out how you want it to if you think you're going to mask everything off and spray around it. Things just don't move out of the way enough.

Paint your bay, it makes the swap look so much better.
Also having a nice clean refreshed motor helps too.
