Splicing OBD2 knock sensors for OBD1

Has anybody spliced OBD2 knock sensors to work with OBD1? If so could you give me a diagram of the wires I need to splice? I bought a set of used OBD1 knock sensors off the forums but they look like they are in really bad shape and I am hesitant to use them when I have two great condition OBD2 ones laying around.

From what I've been told, the obd2 knock sensors read at a different freq/hertz so it wouldn't work. That's just from the top of my head. I'm not 100% sure. If its just the plastic housing your worried about, just try encasing it with a plastic welder. As long as the continuity is still there and the metal prongs from the knock sensor itself is all intact, it should still read.

You need to use the correct ones.

If it's a freq/hertz issue there is no getting around that. The issue I was referring to is the fact that there are 3 wires per sensor on the OBD2 ones, and only 2 per wire on the OBD1 ones.

They are not interchangeable, I'm not sure if it is a Freq. issue though. I think the sensors are just fundamentally different in operation.
