S52 wont start with turner chip

Hey peeps,

I have a S52 that is converted to obd1. The turner chip is set for light weight flywheel with 3.5 maf. I tried starting up my car with the turner chip and it only cranks. I then switched over to the stock chip and it runs but idle is off due to the bigger maf. Anyone experienced this?

If the chip was in the right way then the chip is bad and you have to get another one, is this a real thread.

It's a red label and the chip is not ews delete. I bought the chip brand new.

So I contacted Turners, they said they sent me the wrong chip and will be sending me out the correct one. I just got the other one and tried to start up my car again. It starts for a brief second and then cuts out. I tried giving it some gas but that doesn't do anything. I then threw back in the stock chip and it started with ease. Can it be a bad chip again?

Bummer you aren't NorCal - I wonder what your starting afr and fire up map are like comparing stock vs aftermarket- do you have an wideband afr meter on the car?

Also, does the stock chip throw any check lights? Which 3.5 hfm is fitted, the bmw one or Porsche like trm?

I dont have a afr meter. The stock chip doesnt throw a check engine light but it does on the Turner chip. As for the HFM, I purchased this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/220762897380...witem=&vxp=mtr

what code does it throw? did you ask Turner if the HFM you got is compatible with them?

also, did you try un-plugging the HFM to fire up the car with turner chip?

if car fires with turner chip+ un-plugged HFM.......

I don't have a code reader unfortunately. I called up Turner and told them everything I had. As for the un-plugging the HFM, I will try that out tonight. I appreciate your help.

If its obd 1 no need for reader! search "stomp test"
