    Check Engine Light on..

Can anyone give me some in site? My car seems to be fine, idles good revs fine, no miss fires. However check engine light stays on! The code it throws is Temp sensor, and 07 which idk wat that is according to the bavauto code reader book it doesn't show a code name for it. The temp sensor was fine in my M20. I put the temp sensor where the coolant line valve came out. Car doesn't over heat and seems fine. Thanks for your help.

The temp sensor it's throwing a code for isn't the one you pulled from the m20. The dme temp sensor is what's throwing a code. Have you ran the car long rough for it to get off the cold start enrichment cycle?

I'll bet if you did it would start running like shit. Where did you source the dme temp sensor from?

The only sensor I have plugged in is the old m20 sensor . I've driven the car for about 3days total. I need dme sensor as well?

How do you only have one? there should be a blue one plugged in right next to it in the head.

All it takes is 15 minutes disconnected from power to clear an obd1 dme's memory.

s52 has a combo double sensor for e36m gauge temp sensor and DME. M50's and M20's (both eta and i) have 2. One sensor for DME, one sensor for cluster.

the cluster sensor is to alert driver if engine is melting. not actually important unless you have something broken.

the DME sensor is to help the DME run the engine properly. Very important!!! some cars will not even start (wont have right value on injector tables) without the DME temp sensor functioning.

You're going to have to find a second hole in the head to put that sensor in chief.

Many drill and tap the head for the sensor, some tee into the coolant line to the tb heater.

I deleted my tb heater completely. I live in Canada where we actually have winter and I haven't noticed a difference.

^^ this is what I did.. I deleted my TB heather as well. I have my M20 sensor in that hole. Rite next to it is the s52 temp sensor. Sorry for not understanding, but do I pull that one out and put the blue sensor for the dme in? Thanks in advance.

Thanks, I wasn't aware of that. So my question, is now do I put the blue/DME sensor where the s52 sensor is? I have my old m20 temp sensor where the TB coolant line valve use to be on the block. Dose it even fit? Thanks.
