    EWS delete Help

I have a 1995 S50 with silver label 413 DME. what do i need to do to delete the EWS is that something that needs to be sent out or is it something i can buy and install myself.

Also the motor has an existing tune on it if i use a ews delete chip will i lose the existing tune?

You only need an EWS delete chip and yes, you can install it yourself.

Your tune is in the chip, so yes, if you get an EWS delete chip, you will lose whatever is currently in the ECU.

The eprom chip is under that white bracket. You can get an ews delete chip, or you can get a chip , and clip certain wires to bypass ews

See that half circle notch in the black chip?
Refer to the picture when you install the new chip to make sure you don't flip it around like I did.

Notice how that link says e36tech? Clipping the wires only works in an e36, on a swapped e30 you need the chip.

                        The wiring is different.

My buddy who does these swaps on here says he has used the wire trick to disable ews on a silver label

I run silver labels in plenty of customer cars. They need to be chipped to delete the ews.

                              Bringing back an old thread

Hi All, just about to purchase a chip for my S50 and was searching about EWS...

I have a 413 DME production date 04/95 and the present tune is a Jim conforti 5060-3000 with EWS delete. I got the engine in a running car. It was running with a non EWS delete chip while the 413 DME should Have EWS... How is this possible...

I want to purchase another chip because I bought injector and MAF and have a LWT Flywheel... Should I buy a non EWS delete since the car was running with a non EWS delete chip?

When looking at the 1995 ETM, the EWS module is in the chassis side of the harness. Since I don't have the EWS module and that I would connect X20 pin 18 to C101 pin 18, I would think that it would work... Does the DME receive a "permission" from the EWS module? If yes, that would go thru X20 pin 7... Could the EWS be simulated with a 12v (or ground) coming from else where?

                              Thanks for your help!
