    S50 Headers - Fitment question

    I'm a 24v noob, I'll admit it.

Im buying an S50 swapped e30. I want to buy some long tubes (probablly off eBay) but my mechanic brought up the issue of clearance. He's going to have to lift up the block, install the headers, but he doesn't know if they will clear everything.

I'm thinking LT headers to a resonator (or a high flow cat) then to a borla muffler. Can anyone add some input from expirience. I don't want to have to buy a set and have them absolutly not fit.

Another question is should I go with a one piece, all six connected together with a flange into one. Or should I go with the two separated 3 pipe/3pipe headers that connect with a Y pipe.

    Any advice is greatly appreciated.

    Or these

I have long tube supersprint replicas and they clear my treehouse racing bushing with about .5" to spare. Any other bushing oem like will require the header to be "punched" or dented in so to speak in order to clear.

Another great option for headers are the tubular shorties Levent has in the shop. not sure the brand but they look pretty nice and would clear just about anything.

I had to massage mine a bit, and once the motor settled on the mounts they have started contacting the subframe again. When I get a chance I'm just going to shim that side of the motor up a hair.

First set will clear CAB but will need the subframe dented or the motor raised.

Second set will not require denting the subframe or lifting the motor but will need THR CABs.

I have a set on these on my S50. Tons of room for exhaust work.

The first link you have posted are what is normally referred to as Supersprint replicas. look harder on Ebay and you can find them under $100. Mine fit with no real issues clearing the subframe, front CAB's or the sway bar.

                        Ebay item # 180767714553

I've used this twice and one on my car with s50 and they fit fine. It clears the stock cab. It will be seating on the subframe depending on the mounts you are using but not that bad. I modified my subframe to clear it by 1/2 inch or just dent it. Oxygen sensor bung is not exactly on the same spot on 2 different set of headers, little off but don't use it.

Wait, explain the oxygen sensor again. I didn't understand your last sentence. Don't use what?

Don't use the o2 sensor spot on the headers, make one before the cat so you can read all 6 cylinders.

How do I make one? Just weld the existing ones and drill out some new ones before the cat? I'm still not really understanding the whole 02 sensor spot thing, as I said, I'm a tard when it comes to shit like this. My mechanic's a purist, so I'm just not sure how hes going to take to banging out the sub frame or headers.
