    Cabin Heat Issues

Trying to figure out my heating issues. First my setup:
    mishimoto rad
    new water pump
    new 80c thermostat
I believe the heater core hoses are hooked up correctly. Valve is on the top pipe of the heater core so that goes to the head. Bottom goes to spider. System has been bled.

Basically having trouble with consistent heat. With the temp knob set to hot, the air coming into the cabin is a little colder than room temp but does get colder if I turn the temp knob to cold. If I immediately turn it back to hot the air will get hot for 30 seconds or so and then back to room temperature. Coolant temp is at 190 deg F through all of this but temp gauge on cluster reads just past the quarter mark on the cold side.

From what I've read by searching it isn't as simple as top spider bottom head. You have to look at where the valve in on the heater core pipes, either top or bottom.
