    M50 overheating

    Looking for the right cooling setup for dc traffic

    I have a 88*C tstat, Stock 325i rad, and no fan...and the needle just to the left of center.

        Nope. I can sit for about 5-7 without getting too nervous with AC fan going. Some Cali guys should chime in.

          M52 80C thermo stock M20 rad 82C fan switch, stock AC fan. Never past a little over middle.

            I have no ac fan should I go with an electric one instead

              Id put an electric fan in, Its cheap and easy and have no worries. 80 degree thermostat and I used an 82 degree fan switch to turn it on earlier. Never had a problem even idling at the track in 100 degree days.

                    Make sure the ground nuts on the back of the cluster are tight, too. If they're gone, you can get an erroneous reading from the coolant temp gauge.

                          88c Tstat, SS impeller water pump, aluminum rad, 2 9" ebay fans, havent had it in summer temps yet but in traffic for 20 mins sits in the middle which is where 24v motors are suppose to sit
