the stock head gasket actually works as a nice fuse for bad tuning/fuel when boosting a NA Bmw engine.

Easy way to drop a stack. I recom you use VAC they have a pretty good deal on the MLS and ARP combo and it's the new style bolts that have a slightly higher clamping force. You need to have the head taken to a machine shop and rebuilt and take the op to get your M20 temp sensor drilled out or get an OBD1 head for the rebuild. The "race quality" chains were less than $10 more each over the OE so why not. When it's all back together you have a bullet proof motor boost ready. (Not that you really need it with a few mods its stupid fast)

I hope this time you pull the motor, go through it completely and replace the pan gasket and timing covers tensioners etc. and then reap the rewards of hard labor. It WILL be worth it

hahah dam a lot of these comments are funny!!! Okay first off i bought the arp studs and the mls gasket. Everybody is talking to me like the car is waaaayyy to fast with the swap alone. In my opinion its fun as hell, but not crazy fast. I was recently in my friends 05 cobra with a bored s/c'r and every bolt-on! now that was fast! lol i was thinking about getting the ebay turbo for now since with comes with all the piping and everything because my friend has one available for less than $800. Worst case scenario, if the turbo goes out, i'll buy a presicion turbo for like $900 and already have all the piping. The other thing im concerned about is the manifold, if that goes out then i'll contact otis. i know i wont blow the motor and im definitely not money shifting again. lol Plus im not really spending much money on the turbo im trading it for a few things. Either way im going to have fun and learn some lessons im sure. thanks for you input everybody, im just having fun! lol

Not trying to sound or come off as a douche but do you really think its smart to dump 3-4k on a turbo kit when you have not even driven your car swapped for more than 2 weeks?
lol the reason why im putting money into turbo'n it is because thats what i originally wanted to do... n im for sure not destroying my car, just toying with it hahha btw if i wanted to be smart you would find me on the prius forums lol

I'll rather learn how to drive it with a turbo on there, either way it's the same tranny so fuck it. N test me my car is fixed up enough. I changed everything on it. Here is what she used to look like

You should just buy a P turbo to start.

                    And a decent wastegate.

                    And a decent manifold

                    And a decent vacuum manifold

                    And a decent tune

                    And a decent intercooler

                    And some decent piping

Wait, there is no ebay kit left.

Trust me. Don't fuck with turbos unless you are serious. Because NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING good comes from it.

Yes, because r3v is a slightly acceleration deprived crowd. 13's and 12's is not fast; just acceptable for a street driven sports car.

Real turbo cars need a little more than parts thrown at them to stay happy, Throwing boost at an NA SYSTEM is another game.

I campaigned a STi-RA for years; 8500rpm+1.2 bar of boost. Eats all kind of things alive. Evolution after that was a bit on the slow side even with 23psi stock boost and then some...

If you want to get a drag racing turbo car: buy an evolution. It's the best boost drug you can buy.
