C101 pin 2 is for oil level sensor pin 1 (low); C101 pin 10 is for oil level sensor pin 3 (full). pin 2 of the oil level sensor needs to go to ground (either spliced into a harness ground or on the engine/chassis somewhere)."

    Hope this helps anyone else doing an M50 from an E36 swap.

      6 needs a home and so does 9. If you don't hook 15 up your windows and blower won't work. But yea, that should start at least..... ;)

        Thanks scottinAZ/Nando, that makes sense. There's a 3 prong plug in the oil pan sensor, so that connects like this:

        Pin 1 -> C101 Pin 2
        Pin 2 -> C101 Pin 10
        Pin 3 -> Tie this into a ground.

        This is just to display/turn on the low oil light correctly, right?

        Pin 6: O2 sensor relay. I thought the O2 was contained in the E36 harness? Where would I connect this?

        Pin 9: There isn't even a wire on the C101 here. What I do?

        Pin 15: Again, there's no wire in the C101 in this pin slot. What should I do?

          you have it a bit off,

          Should be Pin 1----> C101 pin 2
          Pin 2----> Ground
          Pin 3----> C101 pin 10

          this will get the sensor on the check panel working properly.
