zf trans with a 4.10? hahaha. Drive a 325i with a 4.10 in 4th gear on the highway, that's what your 5th gear revs would be with a zf and 4.10.

I have an S50/zf/3.46 diff and looking for a 6 speed. Otherwise I'll drop in the 3.15 I have. Too many revs on the highway.

I am running the e36 driveshaft with e30 CSB. I had to shim the diff down so the balancing weight didn't hit the cross tank fuel line.

ZF5 +24v+ e30 is pretty much spot on for a DD-able car with 15" or 16" wheels at 3.07 or so. 2.79 and 2.93 would be just fine for the larger displacement setups (s54b32 or s50b32). a S52b32 could do it also.

Zf5 + 3.23/3.38/3.46 + m52 (6500rpm redline) would be pretty relaxed if running 17" wheels with larger diameter tires.

6 speed is great with a 3.46 for daily driver/hpde use
          OBD1 M54/M52TU swap as a M50b25

Z4 non powered steering rack fits e30

          Euro e46 2005/6 320d 6mt gearbox into E30 with M20 hardy and beck 1985 327s engine

Basically since Ill be on 16s, ideal setup would be a diff no larger than 3.07
