Does a bad diff just make a noise constantly? Mine sounds like shhhhh like someone shushing everyone at a movie theater or something. Doesn't matter what speed, RPM, whether the car is in gear or neutral.
I can't tell if it's a wheel bearing or a diff. It only makes the sound under load, though. When I put it up on a lift I can't get the noise. My driver's rear axle is frozen solid so I need a press to get the thing apart.
