E34 oil pan has the sensor in it, can it just stay there?

    Hi everyone,

The oil level sensor that is bolted to the bottom of the e34 oil pan, does that have to be removed when mating it to an s50 for a swap?

I guess my main concern is that the volume the sensor takes up will detract or not allow for the correct total amount of oil intoning through the system.

Something I need to be worried about? Can the sensor just stay in there unplugged?

Why not just hook it up so it reads? if you dont want to hook up or if installing in a 318 chassis get the sensor delete.

no doubt it's only three wires bro. Would take you all of a half hour dicking off in the garage and no red lights and having to press that damn check button every time you drive the car.

          Now if racecar.....

thanks for the pn. I transposed or something and got a replacement plate for the bottom of the stock sensor.
