Question With My m50 Swap Involving Wiring Harness Adapter

So i was at the Junk Yard the other day and picked up the engine side of the adapter so i can do the whole wiring harness thing but i was not really thinking about what car i took it from. my car is a 86 eta and so i figured i needed to take the adapter from another early model and it came off of a 85 eta so what i am wondering is will the m50 engine harness be able to hook up to the 85 eta adapter? I am sure it will couse all i need to do is get the wiring diagram from the 85 eta and the diagram from the m50 harness and start splicing. haha i just need a second opinion.

Not quite sure if you're asking if the m50 harness will screw onto the m20 one? Well it won't, you need to splice.

Lots of people make an adaptor like you are trying to. You have half of it- the engine side of the c101. Then you'll also need the body side of a x20. Then splice em together.

no i know it wont connect to the m20 but i was wondering if i have the right adapter that i took from another e30 m20. and all i have to do is use the engine side adapter i took from the m20 and cut the m50 adapter off then connect all the wires to the m20 adapter so it will screw into my body side adapter on my e30

You need the M20 harness side and the m50 body side. Then go here Here and splice. I just did this a couple of days ago and it was straight forward. Most all of the wires had matching colors in my case with just 1 exception.

My m20 side was also missing a pin so I had to pull an extra and repin the one that was missing. I am almost done and only encountered 1 issue. I have 2 Green wires on the m20 side coming out of the same pin and need to find out if I use the big, the small or both wires.

        Good luck.

Oh and the way I am doing it is just twisting the wires and wrapping them in electrical tape while I make sure it is correct. Once the harness it confirmed to work without issues I will take it apart and actually solder the wires together and use a nice Boot/ cover.
