    Euro HFM

    Hey guys,
I have heard of some of you guys saying that you are using Euro HFMs with your motor swaps. Can someone please explain this to me. What is the benefit of using a Euro HFM? Is it just a larger diameter to allow more airflow, or is it something different? What kind of power gains should someone expect to see after this swap. What model cars did these come in? How much should I expect to pay for one? Any other info would be great.

ps. I am swapping an s50 motor into my car.

    Thanks.

It's 3.5" instead of 3", allows more air to be registered by the ecu. You need custom software to make it work properly or else you'll have a rough idle and it won't benefit you.

Well, HFM is ~$200, chip could be as much as $400. Not worth the money for the gains.

            32hp isn't horrible for $600.

There's no way that gains 32 horses. And Turner wants $1k? Psh.

Read it wrong, it gains 32hp on the euro motor.

Take a look at this if you want to go that route

Euro HFMs are from the euro s50/s52.

The US 540 HFM is the same exact part as the euro HFM just with different brackets.

You can find a good deal on a 540 HFM if you look around. No reason to spend 2 or 3 hundred for one.
