Where does your tach sit while cruising on the highway?

I'm curious to see where you other M/S50 guys tach's are sitting while cruising on the highway. I'm using the E34 manual transmission and my tach sits at about 2300 at 60 mph and right on 2500 at 65 mph in 5th gear. I was thinking about changing to a 3.25 LSD but maybe not if I use this as a somewhat daily driver with gas the way it is.

Oops sorry, I got the stocker in it, a 2.79 in it

Well tell us what diff you have in there now at least.

    I have a 3.73LSD and I sit around 3850 at 90mph.

Use this site to see what gear speeds you'd get with different diffs:
Bimmerzone was established in 2001 and has been providing quality parts to 10s of thousands of customers around the US and around the world. We take pride in providing top notch BMW parts, performance and accessories at the lowest possible prices and still maintaining a high quality of customer service.

you must be using the getrag 260 e30 5-speed.....it has an overdrive unlike the e36 5-speed that has a 1:1 final drive.

        with the e36 5-speed / 3.73lsd you will see around 4100 at 80mph.
        with the e36 5-speed / 3.25lsd you will see around 3600 at 80mph.

        cheers, jason

I was just curious. Guess, I'm used to the 6 speed in my daily I'm using now and what the E30 use to cruise at with the old slush box and ETA in it.

Thats some tall gearing. I'm sure you could get a big performance increase by going to a 3.73 or even a 4.10. That is, unless you plan on turboing the shit out of it.
